CHANDIGARH: A hearing impaired chess player hit the Punjab government on Monday, saying she was “injured” after being denied a job and a cash bonus.

In a tweet, Mallika Handa said she met Punjab Sports Minister Pargat Singh on Jan.

“I feel very hurt,” she said in the tweet she used to post a video of herself expressing her anger while showing off her medals and awards.

She wrote that the ex-Sports Minister of Punjab had announced a cash bonus for her and sent an invitation to an event that was canceled due to Covid.

When I told the current sports minister about it, he said he couldn’t, Handa said in a tweet.

“Why the Punjab government is doing this,” she asked, posting an alleged invitation to an event organized by the Punjab Sports Department.
