The Combined Defense Services (CDS) exam is administered twice a year. To join the Indian Military Academy (IMA) through the CDS exam, candidates must be a graduate of an accredited university in any discipline. At the same time, a bachelor’s degree in engineering for the Navy and a graduate of the Airforce Academy and a degree in mathematics and physics in the XII class are required.
TES exam (10+2):
If you are looking to join the Indian Army after the 12th, you can apply for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES). Students who have passed the 10+2 (12th) exam in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme.
TES exam (graduate):
If you are an engineering student, you can become an officer in the army through the Indian Army Technical Entry for Engineers. In order to take this exam, candidates must have an engineering degree from a recognized institute.
Apart from the entrance exam stated above, the Army also accepts candidates to the Indian Army through Short Service Commission (SSC) and Territorial Army exams. From time to time, the Army publishes information on these recruitments on its official website.
