Candidates can challenge or object to the answer key by paying a fee of INR 1200, and the CAT exam authorities will review the objections. A revised answer key (CAT final answer key) will be released if it is found to be genuine. The final CAT 2022 answer key will be used to determine the CAT 2022 result. The answer key is used to calculate the candidates’ tentative RAW score of the exam :
- Three marks are provided for each successful answer, thus if the candidate correctly answers 50 questions, the score will be 50×3 = 150.
- One mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. So, if a candidate marks 10 questions wrongly, he or she will receive a ten-point penalty.
- To calculate the CAT Raw score, subtract the total marks deducted from the total points scored, which is 150 – 10 = 140.
CAT 2022 Result
CAT 2022 Result will be announced tentatively during the 1st week of January 2023. Each candidate’s name, registration number, category, photo, sectional score, overall score, sectional percentile, and overall percentile will be listed on the CAT 2022 result cum scorecard. Only the online version of the CAT 2022 result will be available. Following the announcement of the CAT results, IIMs will commence the shortlisting process for admission based on the CAT 2022 cutoffs in order to choose candidates for the WAT-PI round.
To get their results, candidates must follow the steps outlined below :
1st step – Visit the official website (iimcat.ac.in)

3rd step – Please enter your CAT 2022 ID and password.
4th step – Go to the ‘scorecard’ tab.
5th step – Obtain a copy of the CAT scorecard by clicking there.
Three steps are involved in calculating the CAT percentile in the results. Take a look at the following :
- Each applicant is given a score in each segment based on the number of correct and incorrect tries, and then the overall score is calculated by adding the section-wise scores together.
- These section-by-section and overall (raw) results are then normalised to get a scaled CAT score.
- The percentiles are calculated from the normalised scores and reported on the CAT scorecard.
