The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the revised syllabus for the exams of grades X and XII for the 2022 exams.
The particular assessment scheme is designed so that the pandemic does not hinder the student’s learning experience and growth. The structure of the evaluation ensures sufficient flexibility to create a fair evaluation system.
The curriculum has been streamlined and divided into two semesters, with each semester being approximately 50% of the curriculum. The networking of concepts and topics was taken into account.
For Grade X, the assessment includes three regular tests, student enrichment, portfolio and practical work / speaking activities / project. Term 1 exams will take place between November and December 2021. The exam lasts 90 minutes and the question paper contains multiple choice questions (MCQs), including case-based MCQs and MCQs on the type of assertion. Term I will only cover the streamlined first semester curriculum.
At the end of the second semester, the year-end exams or Term II exams are conducted exclusively in accordance with the streamlined Term II curriculum at external examination centers. The exam takes place from March to April 2022, lasts 2 hours and includes case-related, situation-related questions, open-ended questions with short answers and questions with long answers. The board of directors is planning an alternative in the event that students cannot appear in examination centers. In this case, a 90-minute MCQ-based exam is also carried out at the end of the second semester.
The grades of both terms I and II contribute to the final total number of points.
With the need for an updated resource in line with the revised Assessment Guideline, Oswaal Books introduced the 2021-22 chapter-wise CBSE MCQs Question Bank for Term I & II, Grade 10, for the 2021-22 exam. This book is based on the Special Assessment Scheme introduced by the Executive Board on July 5, 2021. The book can be pre-ordered and will be available from mid-August.
This book contains all of the features needed to help students pass their board exams in the face of the revised assessment. It helps students adjust and prepare for the revised exam pedagogy and be confident in their preparation. The book is available for math, science, social science, and Hindi A.
Some of the salient features of the book are:
Practice the Latest Typologies of MCQs: One of the USPs of this book is the sheer variety of question types. This book contains stand-alone MCQs, MCQs based on assertion resonance, and case-based MCQs. All of this is specified by the Commission in the revised Assessment Guideline and practicing with the help of this book will ensure that students become increasingly adept at tackling these types of questions.

Recent Updates: This book is based on the Special Scoring Scheme introduced by the Board of Directors on July 5, 2021, and it also includes questions from the CBSE Official Question Bank published in April 2021, which really updates it. In these current circumstances, it is important that students continue their preparation with current and updated resources. Practicing with outdated resources can jeopardize your preparation and affect your exam results.
Strict Practice: The book also includes CBSE MCQ question banks and has answers with explanations. It also has unit-based regular tests for practice. All of these features ensure that students practice each question type thoroughly and solve those questions more confidently in the exams.
The revised assessment guideline is extremely timely and helpful for students to cope with the changes and realign their assessment strategy in times of the pandemic. It will help students split their preparation into two phases and prepare accordingly. The Oswaal Question Bank was published fairly early, and purchasing this book will help students focus their preparation on learning outcomes, conceptual understanding, and problem solving.
