Exam dates for NEET and JEE Main 2022 coming soon; important points to remember

Exam dates for NEET and JEE Main 2022: The National Testing Agency is expected to announce the test dates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022 and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 shortly.

Information on these exams is available at nta.ac.in and registration is at the main JEE website jeemain.nta.nic.in and the NEET website neet.nta.nic.in.

The JEE Mains exam is administered four times a year for aspirants seeking admission to engineering colleges.

The NTA is the exam conducting body for the JEE main exams and announces the result after each session.

However, candidates must note that the all-India rankings will not be announced until the final session in May concludes.

However, due to COVID-19, the sessions of JEE Main, JEE Advance, NEET PG and other 2021 entrance exams in April 2021 and May 2021 had to be postponed until further notice.

JEE Main 2022:

Last year, the JEE main exam dates were announced in December. The engineering entrance exam is held four times a year for BTech candidates and twice a year for BArch and BPlanning candidates.

Candidates may appear for one or more sessions. If they take the exam more than once, their best scores will count towards the merit list.

You can register for one or more sessions. Before each session, the application window opens for a short time, in which candidates can register or make changes to the application forms they have already submitted.

The main JEE result is announced at the end of each session. However, the overall standings for India will be released at the end of the fourth and final session.

In order to rationalize the syllabus reductions made by various bodies, last year students were given optional questions with no negative marks on the test. As many boards have again cut the syllabus for board exams this year, the NTA may also include optional questions this year.

NEET 2022:

Like JEE Main, NEET 2022 will likely have optional questions. In contrast to the entrance test for engineering sciences, however, the entrance test for medicine is rated negatively for the optional questions.

The NEET application process was divided into two phases. Candidates had to submit a set of information in the first phase, before the exam, and the rest of the information had to be submitted in the second phase, after the exam but before the results.

Aside from MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and Veterinary courses, the NEET exam is now used for admission to BSc courses in Nursing and Life Sciences.

For both NEET and JEE, the NTA had removed the candidate’s age criterion from the equality policy. This means that an older candidate is no longer preferred in the ranking.
