About recruiting: –
41 Field Ammunition Depot (FAD) has posted the latest hiring for the Craftsman, Firefighter, MTS, Junior Office Assistant position. The total number of vacancies is 458. Those candidates who are interested and have selection criteria can apply for 41 FAD recruits in 2021. The application process started on July 10, 2021 and ran until July 31, 2021 (August 7, 2021 in the case of a candidate from Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep). Standard physical requirements to be reviewed at 41 FAD (Qualifying).
Candidates who do not meet the mandatory physical requirements will not be admitted to the physical endurance tests.

|Fireman (male only)||Height without shoes – 165 cm. A concession 2.5 cm high is allowed for members of the planned tribes. Chest – (not expanded – 81.5 cm) & (expanded – 85 cm). Weight – at least 50 kg.|
Carrying out a physical endurance / ability test – Candidates who fail the compulsory physical endurance / skill tests will not be admitted to the written test.

|JOA||Skill test: 35 WPM typing speed in English on the computer or a typing speed of 30 WPM in Hindi on the computer. Qualify only in nature.|
|Fireman (male only)||The candidate must be physically fit to perform the grueling duties of the firefighter and should pass the following tests: To run – 1.6 km qualifying time – up to 6 minutes 30 seconds. Fail – beyond 6 minutes 30 seconds. Clear a 2.7 meter wide trench and land on both feet. Carrying a man (fire brigade elevator) weighing 63.5 kg to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds. 03 meters of vertical rope climb with hands and feet.|

|Craftsman comrade||The physical endurance test (qualification) for the post of Tradesman Mate candidate must pass the following: – Running – 1.6 km qualification time – up to 6 minutes 30 seconds. Fail – beyond 6 minutes 30 seconds. Carry a weight of 50 kg over a distance of 200 m in 100 seconds.|
Note – 5. For female candidates -The timing of the physical endurance test for female candidates is deemed appropriate by the calling authority.
Note – 6. Examination times and degree of difficulty can be changed by the board of directors in consultation with the convening authority.
Physical endurance test for people with disabilities.
- Hearing impaired candidates. Hearing impaired (HH) candidates will be tested for physical tests provided they have explained the method and scoring system in sign language, etc.
- Orthopedic / visually impaired candidates. No physical tests are required for Orthopedic Disabled (OH) / Visually Impaired (VH) candidates. The performance is based on the candidate’s performance in the written exam.
Endurance test for ex-soldiers. These are decided by the board of directors according to a common standard in agreement with the convening authority.
Endurance test for competitive athletes. Physical tests apply to these individuals as for SC / ST / OBC / UR candidates.
Level II (Written test)
Exam Pattern: –
The template for the written exam is as follows:
- The exam will be written target type.
- The written test (objective type) will be bilingual ie English and Hindi.
- The exam is 150 marks / question.
- The exam takes 2 hours 30 minutes (20 minutes extra for visually impaired candidates).
- The standard of the questions will be of matriculation / intermediate / degree.

- MA – written test based on final standards.
- JOA – written test on the 12th standard basis.
- MTS, firefighter & handyman buddy – written test on 10th standard basis.
The exam schedule will look like this.
General intelligence and reasoning: The questions will be of topics – analogies, similarities, differences, spatial visualization, problem solving, analysis and judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figural classification, arithmetic series of numbers, skills dealing with abstract ideas and to explain symbols and their relationships, arithmetic calculations and other analytic functions.
Numerical suitability: The Numerical Proficiency Test covers number systems including questions about simplification, decimals, fractions, LCM, HCF, ratio and proportion, percentage, average, profit and loss, discount, single and compound interest, measurement, time and labor, time and distance, tables & Graphics etc.
General English: Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, basic understanding and writing skills, etc. would be tested. Error detection questions are asked, the gaps are filled in (with verbs, prepositions, articles, etc.), vocabulary, spelling, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, phrases and idiomatic use of words, etc.
General awareness: The questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of their environment and its application to society. The questions also serve to test knowledge about current events and about everyday questions of observation and experience in their scientific terms, as can be expected of an educated person. The test also includes questions about India and its neighboring countries, particularly those related to history, culture, geography, economic scene, general politics and scientific research.
