Genome sequencing laboratory starts in MDU Rohtak

CHANDIGARH: In a major development, the Genome Sequencing Lab at Rohtak’s Maharishi Dayanand University went live after receiving its certificate of operation.

The health department pressed the first batch of samples for genome sequencing by the PGIMS Rohtak. The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Anil Vij, said that now those who need to add their passport number in the case of COVID-19 vaccination must provide their passport number at the vaccination center before vaccination.

Similarly, Covaxin vaccination for children ages 15 to 18 will begin on January 3, 2022, and health workers, frontline workers, and precautionary doses for people over 60 with comorbidities will begin on January 10, 2022.

Covid vaccination program for children starts on January 3, 2022, registration from January 1, 2022

He said the Covid vaccination program will start on January 3, 2022 for children aged 15-18 in the state, and registration for it through the Cowin website or app will start on January 1, 2022, on the other hand, will start on January 1, 2022 On January 10, 2022, commenced the precautionary dose to be given to health care professionals, frontline workers, and those over 60 with comorbidities. Sch. Vij made it clear that children between the ages of 15 and 18 would only be vaccinated with Covaxin, as the central government had approved. That being said, he said there will be separate sites and sessions for vaccination for children, and if there is a parallel site with adults, their line will be created separately and their staff will also be separate. Sch. Vij said these sessions, which offer vaccinations for the 15-18 age group, should be widely promoted. He instructed officers to plan the distribution of Covaxin to the identified meeting locations well in advance. Vaccines should be made available in sufficient quantities to cover these beneficiaries.

Sch. Vij said the decision to vaccinate 15-18 year old children in the country will not only strengthen the country’s fight against Covid, it will also allow children to attend school and college.

A total of 15.40 lakh children will be in Haryana. vaccinated

At the meeting, Sh. Vij was informed that a total of 15.40 lakh children in Haryana will be vaccinated according to RGI estimates. These children will be given a dose of Covaxin, and registration and appointment will be made through Covin. During the meeting it was informed that self-registration can be done using an existing account with Cowin or by creating a new account using a unique mobile phone number. In addition, appointments can be booked online or on site (walk-in).

Cautionary dosage for medical staff, frontline workers and over 60s as of January 10, 2022

The meeting was told that for medical staff, frontline workers, and co-morbidities over the age of 60, the preventive dose will begin on January 10, 2022 and will be available to beneficiaries after 9 months, i.e. 39 weeks from the date of the second Dose. At the meeting it was reported that the total number of health care workers and frontline workers in the state is about 5 lakh, of which the health care is about 2.50 lakh and the front line workers are about 2.50 lakh and the number the person with comorbidities over 60 years old is approximately 5.78 lakh. During the meeting, it was announced that for medical staff, frontline workers, and co-morbidities over the age of 60, registration and appointment of pre-conceptual doses would be done through Cowin. Similarly, online and on-site mode will also be available through your existing COVIN account, and the COWIN system will send SMS to take advantage of any precautionary dose due. The precautionary dosage will appear in the vaccination certificate.

Guidance for officials and employees on the dose

At the meeting, it was informed that guidance was given to District Immunization Officers, City Node Officers and Data Managers on vaccinating 15-18 year olds and precautionary dosing as per Government of India guidelines. Vaccination availability will be posted on Cowin and counties will be notified accordingly and vaccinations will be proportionally allocated by county for the target population and projected number of children.

The state’s current total daily test capacity is around 1.35.650

The meeting informed that there are currently 24 state molecular laboratories in the state for testing Covid-19. 15 of them work as District Molecular Labs and 6 as Medical College Labs. The remaining three work at THSTI, Faridabad, IMTECH, Chandigarh (Government of India) and the Command Hospital, Chandimandir. The daily testing capacity of these laboratories is around 31,000. Three more District Molecular Laboratories are expected to emerge shortly. Similarly, during the meeting it was informed that at this point in time there are 23 private, fully equipped molecular laboratories with a daily test capacity of 1.04.650. The state’s current total daily test capacity is around 1.35.650.

Similarly, the next generation Genome Sequencing Lab for research in genomics, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, USA, was set up at MDU, Rohtak by Path (NGO) in health care. At the meeting it was reported that the number of oxygen systems is 84 (40 PM Care and 44 CSR), oxygen concentrators 7219, BI-PAP 751, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) 166, oxygen cylinder (D-type) 4950, oxygen cylinder (B- Type) is 9067.
