Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand, UP to vote between February 10th and March 7th, result on March 10th

Date of parliamentary elections 2022: Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven phases between February 10 and March 7, 2022. The results of the 2022 assembly election will be published on. announced March 10th. The election schedule for the assembly was announced by Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra along with Election Commissioners Rajiv Kumar and Anup Chandra Pandey.

The CEC said that in view of the increase in COVID cases in view of the Omicron variant, the Indian Electoral Commission had held meetings with the Union Minister of Health and the Minister of the Interior, experts and ministers of health of the states. The ECI decided to announce surveys of applicable safety standards after considering these views and the soil situation.

Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra assured that the general election will be safe and that all preparations will be made to ensure that they run smoothly and safely.

The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) comes into effect immediately when the timetables are announced. The electoral commission has taken elaborate precautions to ensure the effective implementation of the MCC guidelines. Any violation of these guidelines will be strictly punished, according to the CEC.

Parliamentary elections 2022

All five state elections in 2022 will be concluded in seven phases. While the parliamentary elections in Goa, Punjab and Uttarakhand will be held in a single phase in 2022, Manipur will vote in two phases and Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven phases.

COVID-19 Protocols: Voter Safety

• Every legislative assembly of each state should last up to 5 years and no longer, CEC Sushil Chandra quoted from the constitution.

• All civil servants in the electoral service are vaccinated twice.

• All election officials and staff are considered frontline workers and all eligible officials are vaccinated with a “cautionary dose”.

• Seniors over 80 years of age, people with disabilities and COVID19 patients can vote by postal vote.

• All voting booths will be completely disinfected before the elections.

• If a voter’s temperature is above the norms set by the Union Ministry of Health, the voter will be given a token and asked to come to a vote in the last hour of the election.

• The Electoral Commission has also reportedly taken into account the weekly positivity rate of the states that vote.

• A Health Node Officer has been appointed at each level in all countries that are subject to the survey.

• The query time has been extended by one hour. Political parties called for campaigns to be carried out via digital platforms.

• Candidates’ election spending increased to Rs 40 lakhs.

• No physical political rallies or road shows are allowed until January 15, 2022.

• After the result, no victory marches are allowed and no more than two people are allowed to accompany the winner when collecting the certificate.

A women-run polling station in each AC

The ECI has ordered that at least one women-run polling station be set up in each constituency of the assembly. A total of 1620 such voting booths will be built.

Candidates with pending criminal proceedings

cVIGIL app

The Electoral Commission’s cVIGIL application can be used by voters to report any incident of violations of the Model Code of Conduct or the distribution of money and giveaways. The Chief Election Commissioner assured that the ECI officials will reach the scene within 100 minutes of the complaint.
