It should also be noted that the call letter can only be called up via the online mechanism provided by IBPS and that no candidate may collect or send the admission ticket offline.

As far as the IBPS PO main examination is concerned, it will probably also be in January 2022. Last year the exam took place on February 5th. It is safe to speculate that the exams will take place in January itself. However, should there be an unprecedented delay, the review will be carried out at the beginning of February. In any case, the institute will publish the detailed timetable with the specific date in due course. In the meantime, candidates who qualified in the pre-exam can continue through the IBPS PO Main Exam curriculum.

IBPS PO curriculum

The main exam includes sections such as reasoning and computer literacy, general / business / banking, English, and data analysis and interpretation. A detailed breakdown according to grades and the weight distribution can be found in the following table:

Surname Number of questions maximum number of points
Reasoning & computer skills 45 60
General / Economics / Banking Awareness 40 40
English language 35 40
Data analysis & interpretation 35 60

As can be seen from the table above, more weight is given to the Justification and Data Interpretation sections. In the case of the English-language work, the institute has announced that the descriptive sections, which include ‘letter writing’ and ‘essay writing’, are assessed by an “automatic assessment mechanism” in order to check writing skills despite a goal-oriented test.

The IBPS has also pointed out that the candidates appearing for the main examination are obliged to carry a list of documents with them to the examination location. This includes the call letter of the IBPS PO main examination, the stamped call letter of the preliminary examination and a valid photo ID. Please note that the photo ID must be the original and not a Xerox copy and must bear the name shown on the application form and letter of formal notice. Failure to provide any of these documents at the time of judging will result in disqualification and cancellation of the candidacy.

Tips for preparing the IBPS PO network

Candidates can refer to the following tips to help ensure good scores on the IBPS PO Mains 2021 exam:

  • Do mock tests regularly: Performing mock tests has two advantages. For example, it gives the applicant a good overview of their current level of preparation. It helps with time management. Second, it identifies the weak points and gives a candidate room for improvement.
  • Read the newspaper and watch the news: Candidates should make more effort to watch and read the news. Candidates should read the newspaper regularly and focus on the business pages to keep up to date with current events for the exam. Some other financial newspapers like The economic time, and watch CNBC would prove essential in this context. It becomes an important difference in attempting to take the General Awareness component of the exam.
  • Focus on each topic: A candidate must prepare for the five majors listed above. Therefore, it is critical that a candidate devote adequate time to preparing each topic included in the IBPS PO syllabus, rather than focusing on just one topic.
  • Develop an effective strategy: The number of hours you devote to each subject area depends on your level of comfort in that area. Create a unique, personalized study strategy. The goal should be to cover the basics of each area first before turning to increasing speed and accuracy.

After successfully completing the IBPS PO main examination, the institute announces the results. It then initiates the next and final round of the IBPS PO recruitment process, namely the interview round. Dates for this will be announced later.
