The stock share this year is 0.65% higher than in the previous year (98.82%). While only 21,318 candidates failed the exam, 1,21,318 students achieved an A + grade in all subjects. Only 41,906 students had received the grade A + in all subjects in the previous year. Of the 4,21,887 students who took the exam in April of this year, 4,19,651 were admitted to a higher degree. In addition to Kerala, exams were carried out in Gulf States and in Lakshadweep.
While most state and central bodies had decided against running board exams and cut curricula due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kerala government had refused to go with the trend and force the exams to take place. Students took offline exams, although their learning process depended entirely on recorded classes broadcast on the Victers TV channel.
Education Minister V. Sivankutty congratulated students, parents and teachers for making the exam possible in these difficult times. “The record results show the resilience and hard work of students, parents and teachers,” he said. The minister also denied fears that the “record performance” would lead to a shortage of Plus One seats. “The government would take the necessary precautions,” he said.
Minister, DGE denies liberal assessment
General Director of Education Jeevan Babu said the result was very commendable as most states and central agencies did not even conduct exams. “The students were informed in advance about the main points in the curriculum. They were also asked multiple choice questions. Taking the exam itself was an accomplishment, ”he said. Both the minister and the DGE rejected rumors that the assessment this time was too liberal and that the result did not reflect real academic quality.
The SSLC exams were held April 8-29, and the answer book assessment was completed in 16 days June 7-26. Up to 12,791 teachers took part in the assessment. Students who achieve D + or higher in all subjects are admitted to higher school students. Since no IT practice exams could be carried out due to Covid-19, these were graded according to the number of points achieved as part of the ongoing assessment process.
THSLC also had a record rate of 99.72%. Of the 2,889 students who attended 48 schools for exams, 2,881 are eligible for higher education. The percentage of the THSLC (hearing impaired) passed was 100% and SSLC (HI) also recorded a passed percentage in percent.
Applications to upgrade answer books can be submitted from July 17th to
23. The date for the Save a Year (SAY) exam will be announced later.
