While the CLAT preparation takes many months or even years, the importance of the last few days cannot be denied. In the final 2-3 days before the exam, you’ll need to put the finishing touches to your exam prep, take a few sample tests, and solve a sample paper or two to build confidence and prepare your mind and body for the big day.
Here are some tips you can follow to prepare for CLAT Exam Day 2021
Develop the right last minute strategy
To do this, first calculate the time remaining until the day of the exam and the amount of time that can be used for the CLAT preparation. Once the time is calculated, review the section of the curriculum that has already been completed and mark the sections that still need to be touched. Next, prepare a plan to address and revise the familiar and important topics and, if time permits, look at some of the topics that were not touched on before.
Revise any previously created study notes and reading materials.
It is not advisable to try and learn something completely new. Only when you are convinced of the new topic can you leaf through it to get an overview. However, spending a lot of time on a new topic at this stage won’t be a good decision.
The focus should be on –
Review breaking news and general knowledge notes and monthly magazines
Practice tips and tricks to solve quants easily
Refreshing grammar, vocabulary and legal principles,
Improving the speed of reading comprehension,
Legal reasoning and solving logical reasoning problems.
Those who show up for the CLAT PG exam (for LLM courses) should focus on:
Doctrines and landmark judgments relating to the Constitution (much of the questions come from this section)
Different schools of law
Important provisions of contract law, company law, environmental law, family law, IPC, CrPC, evidence, environmental law
Important current judgments and the topics discussed therein
Important terms from tax law, international law, compensation law and property law.
Experiments and papers from the previous year
After the revision, try as many mock tests as you can. Please remember – don’t be discouraged if the apparent levels are low.
There is always room for improvement, the more tests an attempt, the better the chance of improvement. Solving bogus tasks based on time can help to learn and improve time management skills and to get a clear idea of the exam pattern.
Getting used to solving questionnaires can help reduce exam anxiety. In addition, these tests can be used to identify and improve vulnerabilities.
Create an audit strategy
A good round of revisions, followed by regular attempts at mocks and previous year’s work, can give a clear picture of your own strengths and weaknesses. This is an excellent time to develop an exam strategy or it can take a lot of time on exam day to decide – which section to try first and how?
Formulate a strategy of which sections to try first and how much time you plan on each section. Also, be sure to allow some time for revision at the end of the work.
A well-written and timely strategy can be game-changing as it gives a lot of confidence in the exam room.
Stay healthy and sleep well
A very important part of the prep strategy that many people ignore is keeping yourself healthy – both mentally and physically before the exam and also getting some sleep.
A case of illness during the exam or in the crucial preparatory phase can spoil a year of hard work. Therefore, it is important to eat healthily, do some exercise, do some yoga and meditation, and boost immunity either through nutritional supplements or by consuming immunity-boosting foods. Good sleep is again very important for a better memory and a fresh mind.
The final piece of advice would be to stay positive, have confidence, and prepare as best you can. Successes and good results will follow.
