Although it was announced on Friday that registration for the optional Common Admission Test (CET) for First Year Junior College (FYJC) aspirants would begin on July 19, no such process began on Monday, worrying thousands of students. In an official statement from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Friday evening, it was clarified that registration for the optional CET exam will begin on Tuesday at 11 a.m. and the window will be open until the end of July 26th.
Currently, only Grade 10 students on the State Board have received their results, while those on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) are still awaiting their results. State Board officials made it clear that any interested student can sign up for CET, regardless of whether their results are announced or not.
“Registration is done to understand how many students are interested in the exam so students from all school education authorities can complete the process this week,” said a senior official from MSBSHSE. Students can register at http://cet.mh-ssc.ac.in to complete their registration process.
This year, due to increasing Covid-19 cases, the grade 10 exams in several school education committees had to be canceled. The results for the grade 10 batch were instead formulated based on the performance of students in grades 9 and 10 combined. While other boards are yet to announce results, MSBSHSE released the SSC results on Friday (July 16) amid server crash issues.
According to the circular published by the board on Monday, an optional continuing education exam based solely on the SSC curriculum and consisting of multiple choice questions (MCQs) for 100 points will be held. This two-hour lecture will be held on August 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in physical mode. The board of directors will announce further details soon.
The latest circular also mentions subject-related details on the topics that will be considered for the advanced training exam.
On Friday, the state executive announced that registrations for the CET exam would start online on Monday, which confused students and schools all day.
“The state board has informed us that a link for student registrations interested in the advanced training test will be published shortly. And although officials named July 19 as the day to start this process, the board had not shared a link for registration by the evening, ”said Rupa Roy, director of Balmohan Vidyamandir, Dadar.
This delay made SSC students even more concerned, especially after many of them struggled to access their results on Friday due to a server crash. The official results website, due to be announced at 1:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, crashed within hours, preventing many students across the state from accessing their results until Saturday morning.
