Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin tested positive for COVID-19 on December 2, 2022. He requested the test after showing symptoms at home while on vacation. His symptoms are mild and are quarantined at home for at least 5 days.

Vaccination for 15-18 year olds starts today

The Covid-19 vaccination campaign for children between the ages of 15 and 18 will start today, January 3, 2022 across India. The main announcement was made by PM Modi in his address to the nation on December 25, 2021. The children will be given Covaxin by Bharat Biotech.

USA warns against decisive reaction if Russia invades Ukraine

US President Joe Biden told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj in a phone call on January 2, 2022 that the US and its allies would react decisively if Russia invades Ukraine. The call comes days before U.S. and Russian officials are due to meet in person in Geneva on January 10.

PM Modi visits Manipur and Tripura on January 4th

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur and Tripura on January 4, 2021. He will inaugurate 13 projects valued at Rs 1850 crore and lay the foundation for 9 projects valued at Rs 2950 in Manipur. He will also inaugurate the new integrated terminal building at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport and start two development projects in Tripura.

PM Modi lays foundation stone for Major Dhyan Chand Sports University

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut on January 2, 2022. The university is being built in the villages of Salawa and Kaili in the city of Sardhana in Meerut for around 700 billion rupees.

Soccer star Lionel Messi tested positive for COVID-19 along with 3 other Paris-Saint-Germaine soccer players. The association announced this on January 2, 2022. The three other players who tested positive for COVID-19 include Nathan Bitumazala, Sergio Rico and Juan Bernat. All players are currently in isolation. PSG will have a game against Vannes in the round of 16 of the French Cup on January 4, 2022.
