As a great relief for the medical aspirants, it is now official that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 will not take place on August 1st. The medical entrance exam has been postponed until further notice. The testing agency, the National Testing Agency (NTA), said in its latest circular that it is “still in consultation with affected stakeholders to set an appropriate date for the NEET (UG) to be implemented – 2021, taking into account the ongoing COVID” -19 pandemic “.
The NTA went on to say that it will make announcements about NEET 2021 “soon”, including dates when the online application will start and the exam will take place. Usually application forms are open at least 60 days in advance, which not only gives students time to fill out the form, but also allows the organizing agency to finalize the admission card, exam center locations, etc. based on the number of applications.
While students have called for the medical entrance exam to be postponed to October, it is not yet known when the exam will take place. A previous circular claimed that NEET would take place on September 5th. The exam also took place in September last year.
Since the NEET 2021 is a one-day test, the NTA must take strict precautions. This year, the NTA increased the number of exam centers for JEE Main 2021 outstanding sessions from 660 previously to 828 now for 6.80 lakh and 6.09 lakh candidates, which will be available for April and May respectively. Registered sessions. The number of cities where the exam is held has also increased from 232 to 334. If you consider that NEET has almost doubled the number of students (at least 14 lakh sign up for NEET each year), the number of exam centers, cities, etc. will have to increase for NEET too.
In addition, this year the number of questions in the medical entrance exam is expected to be increased to give students an internal choice. This was announced by the Ministry of Education, headed by Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who said, “The JEE and NEET curriculum will remain unchanged for 2021 JEE and NEET.” This was announced because most of the bodies – state and central education authorities – had reduced their curriculum, so the ministry announced that it would give students the flexibility to prepare according to the board’s curriculum.
