The TET 2022 exam is the annual teacher proficiency test conducted for the recruitment of teachers in government schools across India. It is carried out in accordance with the Children’s Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act of 2009.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is responsible for maintaining the TET database, administering the TET 2022 curriculum, and guiding government agencies in conducting the exam. Candidates who apply for the TET are ONLY eligible for appointment as state school teachers and would be eligible for teaching posts such as –

  • Primary School Teachers (PRTs): For grades IV
  • Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs): For classes VI-X
  • Postgraduate Teachers (PGTs): For grades XI-XII

TET 2022 eligibility criteria

The candidates for TET exam 2022 should have –

  • Obtaining a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute
  • At least 45% Marks secured.
  • Obtaining one of the valid educational or elementary school qualifications, such as Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed.) or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

TET exam curriculum 2022

TET consists of two papers –

  • Paper 1 – For candidates who plan to take the students in grades I – V. to teach
  • Paper 2 – For candidates planning to teach grades VI-VIII students

All of the questions asked in the TET 2022 exam are multiple choice questions (MCQs), each with a grade and four options. There is no negative mark. The examination office adheres strictly to the structure and content of the TET curriculum 2022 given below.
