The Odisha Police Department Recruitment Board will conduct an open competitive examination for the recruitment of the Sub-Inspector (SI) of the Odisha Police Department. According to the official announcement, the computer-aided exam will take place from August 6th to 16th, 2021. The recruitment offensive is to fill 477 positions of sub-inspectors in the state police authority.

In the run-up to the computer-based exam, the board will publish a link for practice / mock tests a week before the exam, i.e. on July 31, 2021. The link is made available at (odipolsi21.onlineapplicationform.org/ODIPOL/) for applicants to familiarize themselves with the examination scheme.
The first level of the Computer-Based Recruitment Examination (CBRE) consists of 2 papers. Paper 1 asks up to 100 questions from General English and Odia languages, while Paper 2 contains 200 questions based on General Studies. Task 1 is 90 minutes long, while Task 2 is 180 minutes. Each correct answer is given 1 point. A negative grade, 0.25 points for each wrong answer, is also valid in the exam.
The computer-aided recruitment test is expected to take place from 6 to 16 August 2021. However, the exact date, time and venue of the CBRE will be communicated through the admission cards in due course. The admission cards are expected to be published by July 31, 2021. In addition, a warning message will be sent to candidates on their registered email ID or cell phone number, an official statement said.
According to a recent notice, the State Police Department has issued a notice of amendment containing changes to the RFP schedule. This revised the electronic tender for the implementation of computer-assisted recruitment tests and practical skills tests (computers) for the recruitment of junior officers in the DPO squad of the Odisha police. Accordingly, the commercial and final tender will open on August 2nd, 2021. Previously this should start on July 26th. This means that the possibility of postponing exam dates for Computer Based Recruitment cannot be dismissed out of hand.

Meanwhile, board chairman RK Sharma said the board’s priority would be to ensure the timely recruitment of the sub-inspectors in a transparent manner. Therefore, aspirants should continue to prepare for the computer-based exam. To pass the exam, students should go through the detailed curriculum available on the official website-odishapolice.gov.in.
For questions based on general English, it is recommended that candidates take the previous year’s questionnaires, a trial test. On the other hand, for the General Awareness section, candidates are encouraged to review current events and facts about the general science, history, geography and politics of India. In addition, candidates are encouraged to practice topics already covered in order to achieve good grades in terms of mental ability, logical reasoning, and numerical dexterity. A quick revision of the basics of the computer and its applications should be covered for basic computing.
