odisha: Student applications for government scholarship programs

Bhubaneswar: The higher education department has an online application for the award of a scholarship under e-Medhabruti and Vyasakabi Fakir Mohan Bhasabruti for the year 2021-22 from eligible students from Odisha, the Undergraduate (UG), PG, technical and professional courses in and outside of Odisha.

Applications will be available from January 5th on the www.scholarship.odisha.gov.in portal. The deadline for online applications for students is February 5th. School principals or heads of institutions will validate the students’ records by February 20th. Meanwhile, the government has issued guidelines for the selection of students for these scholarships. Under the e-Medhabruti program, the government provides financial support to deserving Odisha students whose parental income does not exceed 6 lakh per year.

The government has provided 6,000 grants for undergraduate students (UG) and 2,500 for doctoral students (PG). That number is 6,000 for students taking technical and professional courses. UG students receive Rs 5000 per year while students taking PG, technical and professional courses receive Rs 10,000 per year.

A student is entitled to the scholarship for the entire duration of the course. In the technical and professional performance categories, only UG vocational courses and integrated courses come under this heading.

According to the eligibility criteria, the student must be a permanent resident of Odisha. The student must have achieved at least 60 percent of the grades in the previous aptitude test. You can only apply for medhabruti in the year of entry (first year of study).

Students studying abroad or completing their university studies at open universities or distance learning / correspondence cannot be admitted to the scholarship.

The state government has also launched a ‘Vyasakabi Fakir Mohan Bhasabruti’ scholarship in the name of the legendary writer Fakir Mohan Senapati to promote the Odia language to encourage deserving students to pursue higher education in Odia language at the UG and PG levels to record.

As part of this scholarship program, one beneficiary receives Rs 20,000 each. Students who have received admission in Plus III Arts with Odia as an honorary subject (first year) at universities after they have passed the Plus II exam with a total of 60 percent of the Council’s can apply of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, for this scholarship at UG level.

Likewise, an MA in Odia student with 60 percent points in the Odia Honors subject can apply for this scholarship. Up to 1200 UG and 300 PG students can receive this scholarship.
