SEBI Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) selection process:

The selection process for the exam is as follows:

1. Phase I online exam

2. Phase II online exam & interview

Selection mode:

The selection process must be a three-stage process, ie phase I (online screening examination consisting of two papers with 100 points each), phase II (online examination consisting of two papers with 100 points each) and phase III (interview).

A. Phase I online exam:

On February 20, 2022 there will be an online screening exam consisting of two papers (multiple-choice questions of 100 points). The exam consists of:

I. For work 1 and 2 in phase I, a negative evaluation (1/4 of the number of points assigned to the question) must be given.

ii. In phase I, there must be a cut-off of at least 30% for paper 1 (no cut-off in sections) and a cut-off of at least 40% for paper 2.

iii. The candidates would have to achieve a separate cut-off for each thesis as mentioned under (ii) above and an overall grade of 40% in the phase I examination in order to be shortlisted for phase II. The grades obtained in phase I will only be used to select candidates for the phase II examination procedure and will not be taken into account for the final selection of candidates.

iv. Subject to the criteria mentioned under (iii) above, all candidates who pass Phase I will be shortlisted for Phase II. The list of shortlisted candidates for Phase II will be made available on the SEBI website.

B. Phase II online exam:

On March 20, 2022 there will be an online exam consisting of two papers with 100 points each (except for Paper 2 of Information Technology Stream). Information Technology Stream Paper 2 will be held on April 03, 2022. The papers are as follows:

* Paper 2 of Phase II of the Information Technology Stream will be kept separate on April 3, 2022, for which separate letters of formal notice will be issued to candidates.

I. Candidates who were shortlisted for Phase II will receive new hall tickets.

ii. For candidates who have applied in several streams, Paper 2 is carried out in different shifts, the times of which are specified in the hall ticket. Paper 2 of the IT stream will be kept separate on April 3, 2022.

iii. For paper 2 in phase II (except IT-Stream) a negative evaluation (1/4 of the number of points assigned to the question) must be given.

iv. In phase II there should be a cut-off of at least 30% for paper 1 and a cut-off of at least 40% for paper 2.

v. The candidates would have to ensure a separate cut-off for each work as mentioned under (iv) above and an overall grade of 50% in the phase II examination (weighting of 1/3 for paper 1 and 2/3 for paper 2), that will be shortlisted for phase III.

vi. Subject to the criteria mentioned under (v) above, candidates who correspond to three times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted in the order of their performance for phase III, ie the interview. The list of shortlisted candidates for interview will be published on the SEBI website.

Note: All questionnaires (in both phases, with the exception of the English test) are bilingual in Hindi and English.

C. Interview: Only the shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. Applicants who were not shortlisted for phase II and interview will not be reimbursed the application fee. The candidate can choose to interview in either Hindi or English. The weighting of the grades achieved in phase II is 85%, while the grades achieved in the interview are weighted with 15%.

IV. EXAMINATION CENTERS:

B. The Phase II online exam (excluding Paper 2 of Phase II of the Information Technology Stream) will be held in the following cities:

Candidates can enter up to three cities for phase I and only one city for phase II in the online application. Candidates applying for an IT stream must specify a city preference separately for Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the Phase II exam. The choice of city by the candidates for the phase I and phase II exams can be different and must be indicated in the online application. Candidates appear for examination in an examination center at their own risk and expense. SEBI does not make any arrangements for boarding / accommodating candidates. SEBI is not responsible for any injury or loss etc. of any kind during the exam.

Note: Notwithstanding the foregoing provision, SEBI reserves the right to change the centers at its sole discretion. All exam centers offer exams for visually impaired candidates in their respective centers. The candidates admitted to the exam will be informed of the schedule and the location or locations. Candidates should note that no request to change location will be considered.

C. The location for the interview will be announced to the shortlisted candidates in their application letters.
