The state government of Maharashtra recently announced the cancellation of HSC exams due to the ongoing second wave of Coronavirus (COVID-19). However, according to reports, the State Ministry of Education is considering the Common Entrance Test (CET). The result of these exams is used by students to apply for admission to non-professional Bachelor programs.
Allegedly this year the curriculum of the upper level of the State Council will be used for the examination. Due to the cancellation of the examinations before a committee, students all over the state are worried about their admission in the first year of study. The decision has yet to be announced, but discussions are being held by officials on the Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Board.

Share more information, Minister of State for Technical Education, Uday Samant, said in a meeting with officials on Saturday, June 5, 2021 that the department should keep an eye on various options relevant to approval. In addition, the ministry is planning to set up a state committee to deal with the understanding of the possibility of continuing education examinations. This includes experts from the education sector, civil servants from the respective departments and rectors of state universities.
Add more information, Minister Samant also stated that if the department decides to hold continuing education exams, the students must follow the state committee curriculum and regular pattern. In the meantime, the private and autonomous institutions have been asked to follow their own guidelines for the exams. In addition, taking into account the time constraints, officials have planned not to make impractical decisions and announcements.

Meanwhile, the CET exams for admission to the FYJC will be held as planned and SSC students will need to prepare based on the state board’s curriculum, the school education department said. However, students from other bodies had asked officials to reconsider the same as there was a difference in curriculum between the state, CBSE, and other bodies.
