projectile motion

A body that flies through the atmosphere but is not powered by any fuel is called a projectile. A body or particle that moves in the atmosphere only under the influence of gravity. The motion of the projectile is two-dimensional motion in a vertical plane.
Ex. Rock thrown in the air by a boy, bullet fired from a gun, javelin thrown by an athlete, football kicked by a player, bomb dropped from a flying airplane.
trajectory: The path followed by a projectile is called a projectile’s trajectory. If we consider the motion of a projectile, the following assumptions are made: (i) There is no drag due to air. (ii) No effect due to the curvature of the earth. (iii) No effect due to the Earth’s rotation. (iv) For all orbit points according to gravity, $mathrm{g}$ (which points down) remains the same.
Two types of projectile movement:
(i) Horizontal Projectile: Object propelled horizontally from a given height at a given speed. (ii) Oblique Projectile: Body projected at a specific angle to the horizontal. Also read JEE Physics Notes to watch free JEE tutorial videos from Kota’s top IITian faculty. Install the eSaral app
